چکیده
CASE REPORT A 37–years old male patient of Indian origin was referred to the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics for treatment of carious teeth. An intraoral examination revealed an Angle’s Class I molar relation with a well aligned upper and a lower arch. Full complement of permanent teeth was present. Generalized dental fluorosis was seen in teeth of both arches. Though the teeth were in good contact in the posterior segment, an interdental spacing was observed in the anterior quadrant. It was interesting to find that the maxillary left second premolar was rotated through 180°, with its buccal surface facing palatally and its distal surface facing mesially [Table/Fig-1 and 2]. Premolar arrangement was normal in the other three quadrants. In addition, bilateral accessory central cusps were observed on the occlusal surface of maxillary first molars.

Background and purpose: Assessment of tooth length has an important role in success and failure of dental treatments. As yet periapical radiography has been used for the assessment of tooth length causing high x-ray exposure, long time and patient discomfort. Using panoramic radiography can resolve these problems. The major disadvantage of panoramic radiography is monotonous magnification. The ...

OBJECTIVE Orthodontic mini-implants (OMI) generate various horizontal and vertical force vectors and moments according to their insertion positions. This study aimed to help select ideal biomechanics during maxillary incisor retraction by varying the length in the anterior retraction hook (ARH) and OMI position. METHODS Two extraction models were constructed to analyze the three-dimentional f...

The maxillary right second premolar was blocked out lingually and rotated mesially, and the maxillary le...

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to analyze tooth movement and arch width changes in maxillary dentition following nonextraction treatment with orthodontic mini-implant (OMI) anchorage in Class II division 1 malocclusions. METHODS Seventeen adult patients diagnosed with Angle's Class II division 1 malocclusion were treated by nonextraction with OMIs as anchorage for distalization of whole ...

Introduction: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the prevalence of dental anomalies and hypodontia. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, the panoramic radiographs of 101 cases with tooth agenesis (except for the third molar) were studied and compared with [Pn1] those of a non-agenesis control group of 182 subjects. The subjects were within the age range of ...
